One of the most popular and tranquil Mindoro beaches, Coco Beach Island Resort is a sprawling 10-hectare beach resort of Puerto Galera. The beach is particularly known for its history as Spanish Galleons once passed the waters in front of the resort by means of a trading route between Europe, Mexico, and the countries in the east. With its Filipino vibe designs to which the hotel is made of nipa huts that have been constructed from bamboo materials, the resort helps to promote Filipino designs and the hospitality the Philippines is known for.
HOW TO GET THERE
- Take the bus from Buendia Station or from Cubao Bus Terminal bound to Batangas Port.
- From Batangas Port, hop on a regular/ public ferry bound to Puerto Galera (Muelle Bay).
- Rent a small boat that will take you to Coco Beach Island Resort (10 mins. boat travel)
WHERE TO STAY
You can enjoy the island breeze from the nipa hut style rooms in the resort. Coco Beach Island Resort consists of 110 rooms and it can be divided into four different types.
Heritage Rooms (₱11,161 per night)
These rooms are designed and named after a particular indigenous tribe in the Philippines. The Heritage rooms are loft-type and are good for six persons however can be extended up to eight with extra charge.
Suite Rooms (₱8,036 per night)
This kind of room is perfect for small families. It consists of a Master’s Bedroom with a Queen-sized bed and two daybeds in the sitting area. The room comes with a very capacious bungalow type and a balcony and hammock where you can rest and relax with your other three companions.
Hilltop Cottages
These cottages were named “Hilltop” because they are located almost at the topmost part of the hill on the island. There’s no better romantic view of the calming sea than these cottages, for that reason lovers and couples are perfect for these cottages. The room comes with a queen-size bed and a private bathroom with hot and cold water and a toilet and is good for two persons but some cottages have a second floor that is good for two more people for an extra charge. It also comes with a balcony and hammocks where you can swing and lay on.
Deluxe Rooms (₱4,500 per night)
This room type comes in Classic Deluxe, Family Deluxe, and Banana Deluxe. All three rooms are good for at least two persons, and each room type can be chosen based on your needs, be it in terms of privacy, accessibility, or view.
